don't put the vicks into any pot that you plan to cook in. the slow cooker works well, put a screen over the top.
Easy! Fill it up with water, place in your bedroom and turn on low once the water has warmed up.

Either would work just always protect area(wood table/nightstand/floor)directly around what ever you are using from the moisture. I don't know how safe slow cooker all night unattended no lid it would boil dry then break/cause fire, would be/might be ok to use during day while you are awake to monitor it. Vaporizer works too. You can get nice low cost 25$ humidifiers at Walmart. https://www.walmart.com/ip/PureGuardian-H910BL-14-Hour-Nursery-Ultrasonic-Cool-Mist-Humidifier/46092414?wmlspartner=wlpa&adid=22222222227033870260&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=70913813912&wl4=pla-138877513232&wl5=9030040&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=46092414&wl13=&veh=sem&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIm7j9-6Cd3wIVFCCtBh3DFwnOEAQYBSABEgLE1PD_BwE
