St. Augustine is a great grass for Florida, especially if you have moist ocean air. It will usually grow roots so strong that it will take over other grasses like Bermuda. Check with a local nursery for special nutritional information. Best wishes, ☺️
Decades ago I lived in NW Fla (Panhandle) The best grass in that poor, sand/clay soil was zoysia.
