There are two-ingredient epoxy kits that you can use. There's a "Rock Solid" kit by Rustoleum that might work well for you. My kids used it on the garage floor, very strong and not bad looking. They were going for an industrial look and did their counters in their kitchen as a fix until they can afford the quartz they want. Available at big box home improvement stores, near the paint aisle.
Giani and Rustoldum make some great kits for countertops. If you have a Habitat for Humanity in your area, they sell bathroom countertops that are over buys from Apartment contractors, and they are cheap.
