What can I do with the names on my late husbands shirts?
my husband passed away a couple of years ago and just this weekend, i found a box full of his work shirts (about 50 or so) with his name on them (patches). What can i do with them for my son who's name is the same as my husband?i was thinking of cutting out the name patch cause i don't like the work shirts. but if someone suggests something nice looking, then i'll leave the patches on the shirt and use it like that.

Is he a second or junior? Have patches made for the shirts 11 or JR to place under the patched. I am sure he would proudly wear them to honor his dad!
Mona had a GREAT idea!
Not that you would want 50 of these, but this is something a friend of mine did. You could make the pillow without the embroidered saying.
Nothing else comes to mind but maybe this will help you or others to have more ideas.
Make a throw to snuggle with like patchwork quilt.
i love Kathy and Lynn's ideas. i have plenty of shirts to go around, so i could make a snuggle pillow for each of my children (our 2 daughters and our son) to hug, and the remaining shirts into 3 small throw blankets - one for each of my grand-children!
i think i'll even have enough to make 2 more small pillows - one for my husband's sister and 1 for his brother. thank you all; this will definitely make a memorable gift. and the best part is that if i don't have them ready for xmas, i can have them ready for what would've been my husband's 50th birthday this coming January. i'm so excited...THANK YOU ALL.
Make a quilt with cut pieces of each shirt and place name in center
Lots of good ideas. I would also put some back for later. Your kids might want them when theyre older. Especially your son as a junior. The young people around here are into wearing mens work shirts with company logos and name tags.
