I also suffered with weeds. At one point, two thirds of my lawn was taken over. I tried everything under the sun. I finally tried Spectracide Weed and Feed. I mixed a much stronger solution than the instructions said. Used a handheld sprayer and really wet the "lawn" down with no rain scheduled for the next few days. Killed the weeds and the lawn came back stronger than ever. I still get some weeds coming back every so often, so I pull out what I can and spot spray it along with other weeds as general maintenance.

Hi Elizabeth! It is hard when you do not have a catcher for your lawnmower. You can order one if you are able to figure out the mower number, etc. Home Depot, Lowe's could help you! A blower, a good rake all will help you accomplish this. Also, we use Roundup because it does the best for us controlling weeds. I am also sending you a link. Good luck to you!! Merry Christmas!!

Hi Elizabeth, you want to add salt to the vinegar mix as it kills the roots of the weeds, hope this helps, mix 1 cup of salt. 1 tablespoon of dish soap. 1 gallon of vinegar, pour into a spray bottle and spray weeds. Be careful not to spray plants that you love.

It is so simple but it can work a treat. Boil some tap water in a kettle and once ready pour it directly on the crown of your weeds. Larger weeds may take three or four applications in order to stop coming back but this is a low cost and hassle free solution worth giving a try. Just be sure to wear adequate protection clothing so that the scolding hot water doesn’t splash back onto your feet, legs and/or hands. Some people have actually seen this method work better than the vinegar method, give it a shot!

Boiling water for the kill to the root. I have never had much luck with vinegar, dish washing liquid, and salt mixtures no matter what the formulas are.
