How can I hang a small lamp above this manicure table?
HI there any suggestions ? I've redid a manicure table for my daughter . I drilled a small hole on side top, then secured a cut down shepherds garden hook ,going to hang a small lamp from hook my dilemma is how can I secure the wire (switch) to the pole itself without looking tacky

Hi Tammy, beautiful table. I'm not a fan of wires either. That's a tough one since you don't want to twist the wire and risk damaging it. You could use zip ties, but they're not pretty. They do come in colors though...You could also mount another pole next to that one and snake the wire down it. I'm interested to hear what others say...
How about velcro ties. Sew some velcro on the end of velvet ribbon. You can buy ties for the garden that are velcro, but these are usually coloured.
Can you install a light fixture from the ceiling , over the manicure table itself? That would eliminate the need for the garden hook and wires.?
Or how about string lights? Really nice & bright ones?
IS this to be set up in her room or elsewhere? They make all kinds of adjustable lights that can be screwed into the wall and manuevered any which way- found this out just walking through a light section at Lowe's.
There are cord scrunchies sold at Lowes in the lighting/fan section that have snaps all along the edge. They can be used to cover ceiling light chains/cords, cover unsightly cords from lamps along the floor, etc, if it were me I'd use one for this project. It will cover the cord and you can still zip tie a switch in place along the rod and have plenty of play along the snapping edge of the scrunchie. I've contemplated making my own cord scrunchies but never have time......
Could you get another shepherds hook and fasten it to the first? Then the wire could be tucked into the groove between the two hooks and glued in place.
They have clip on lights you could clip on the mirror. Then use the hook to hang ribbons, scarfs or a small basket on a chain for earrings, lots of ideas.
