How do I give my walls a new look without spending a lot of money?
At least 2 large living room walls need painting or wallpaper or something. Problem is ...on my fixed income I can afford the paint but can't afford help. The amount of wallpaper needed would be also unaffordable. I was blessed with a gently used living room set which now looks out of place. HELP!!! I am open for suggestions.please.

Are you a senior or disabled? Many cities have programs where seniors and disabled people can get help with home maintenance.
If not, can you ask your church for help? Or, reach out to a local Scout or Girl Scout group.
We rarely buy paint. Go to your household chemical recycle center and "buy" paint for free. One hack that I've used multiple times is to select several different paints, all latex, and all in the same color family such as off white. Before painting, mix all the paints together in a 5 gallon bucket. This will give you one new color to use throughout your home. I've painted the entire interior of my house before for free. You need to be flexible with the color, but mine have always turned out to be a very pleasant beige. Just make sure they are all latex. You can't mix different bases.
Can you forward pictures? Of room and furniture.
Hi Cassandra. I'm Cindy. Go with paint for an updated look. Wallpaper is difficult to put up and worse if you ever want to remove it. We had a Habitat for Humanity move into our town last year. I have been there a couple times and both times they had paint. Brand new and it was being sold for great prices. If you can get to a Habitat store, you won't be disappointed. Call ahead and confirm they have paint. Good luck Cassandra and Happy Holidays.
Cassandra, painting walls is a fairly easy project. You'll need rollers, drop cloths (even old shower curtains work), a roller pan, an extender for your roller handle, some painter's tape, and a paintbrush to do corners and the top edge of the wall. If you want the most bang for your buck, do an accent wall. Make it a color your new furniture will "pop" against. If you've never painted a room, watch a video or two on youtube or a site like Home Depot or Lowe's. Take your time and you don't need someone else to do it.
