How should I deal with dead tree leaves on my lawn?
My front lawn is covered with dead, tree leaves. Which method is best for the lawn? To rake, clean up the messy appearance?? Or leave a leaf coat to cover against the cold weather elements?? Opinions appreciated!

I thought about cutting off the top for rooting and let the bottom stay in the pot.
I would definitely try to clean up as much as you can. The leaves will suffocate your lawn. If you have a mulching lawn mower, just do a few passes over it or invest in a leaf blower. We also have a blower that reverses and sucks the leaves up mulching them into a bag.
If they are matted down, you should get them up - no air getting through to the grass.
If they are covering flower bulbs, the bulbs will work their way through.
If they are blowing around your yard, OK. If they are going into a neighbor's yard, you might want to get them up.
I rake/blow into a pile and then use as 'mulch' on my flower/garden beds; TOO many leaves can stifle a lawn -- depending on your grow zone, or you can just rake back to the drip like of the trees from which they fell.
Hello. I would rake them up, or if there isn't so many try mulching them with your mower. The mulches leaves are good for the grass. Big clumps can choke out the grass.
