  • Hi Maggie, I removed my carpeting and bought relatively affordable bamboo hardwood flooring from Lumber Liquidators. They have some great cost-effective options. Good luck!

I had old carpet in my bedroom. I wanted to be able to do this myself. I removed the old carpet with box cutters and scissors, the tacks and tack boards with a pry bar. I bought inexpensive peel and stick tiles at Lowes. Now this is labor intensive but I did a little bit at a time, working my way around the room.
