Your sink is aging and is getting a patina on it. If you don't like the natural patina, use a commercial brass cleaner on it continuously. Commercial brass cleaners like Brasso have ingredients in them to keep your sink shinier longer than any DIY product you can make.
I don't think it's brass looks like hammered copper to me. Cannot use anything abrasive or acidic on it it will ruin it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QQeTfXOiX4 MORE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aO2Cd4CV0U4 I use BioCleaner made from clay ,cleans polishes and leaves protective coating on all my copper, stainless, black glass stove top & more. Maybe can get it on Amazon or QVC.com well worth the money little goes long way easy to use.
Not brass. Copper.
Catchup cleans brass and copper. Smear on and you won't believe the difference.
I have these same sinks! They are hammered copper, I clean them with Bar Keepers Friend. I’ve used Brasso and Twinkle, the BKF does as good a job without the horrible smell! See pictures below.
