Lynda...I still go with Easy Off.
I have a tutorial on how to clean your oven window (the rest of my oven is self cleaning), but you can use this same method to clean your whole oven - https://chascrazycreations.com/how-to-clean-your-oven-window/
Lynda, I always prefer self-cleaning. Wipe out excess crumbs, remove any items from on top of the stove, turn on to self clean and open a window. It will lock the door so it can't be opened until it cools. This process takes about 4 hours. Once the door unlocks, open and wipe the ashes with a damp cloth.
Without this, I take a shallow pan of ammonia and close it up overnight. The ammonia fumes will soften the debris and can be wiped out next day.

How to Clean an Oven (Priceless!!)
Assuming it’s not self cleaning....remove the racks. Wipe out any loose dirt, if there are a lot of raised burned on spots, scrub those as best you can. Wipe out whole thing with damp sponge.
Buy an over cleaner (I find Easy Off has less fumes) and follow directions on the can. If it’s really bad you may need to do it twice. Don’t forget sides and door. Put some newspaper on the floor to protect from drips. Leave oven cleaner on for the prescribed amount of time on the can. When done, wipe out with paper towels. Wipe down with hot water and a sponge. You may still have bad spots that need further scrubbing. When finished, run oven for 30 minutes at 325. Take the racks, remove all loose dirt and spray oven cleaner on them, layered between newspaper. Let sit overnight, wash in the morning. Don’t be tempted to leave racks in the oven. Sounds like a lot but it’s not really that bad. If you do it 2-3 times a year you’ll find it’s much less of a job.
