How do I paint my kitchen cabinets?

Enamel paint also works well for cabinets. Clean them well, sand lightly and paint.

An acrylic latex paint in an enamel finish worked well for me! I cleaned my cabinets well, lightly sanded, cleaned again, used a good primer, and then I painted. Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore stores will direct you to the right paint and primer for your project.

Go to a brand specific paint store and tell them what you are doing. A good paint that will adhere and wear well will cost in the neighborhood of $60. Preparation is the key. Degrease and clean them extensively.

I agree, painting cabinets is tedious. Prep is the key, a light sanding and cleaning must be done before priming. Use a good acrylic paint. I would spray paint the doors and drawers. Worth the price of a sprayer. Wagner makes a good one and Homelite does too. Both fairly inexpensive. Take your time, and do it right. Do not use chalk paint, as it does not last and you certainly do not want to do this over again.
