We have these ugly linoleum type floors in our kitchen n can’t afford to replace them. Does anyone have any ideas on how to update them.
Lori, I think the way this is painted, it would stand up to a lot of feet walking across it!

Hi Lori! My experience has been that it is the prep to make sure they are squeaky clean that will affect your wear the most. Use floor paint and clear sealer. The more wear, the more you want the floor to be well sealed.
Prep is definitely the key here, making sure the floor is spotless, super clean and fuzzy free. Use a good bonding primer made for tiles and seal with water based polyurethane, using several coats.
Clean well and allow to dry - use XIM Bonding primer and apply two coats, paint what ever color, stencil, etc and then try BenMoore Stays Clear for your top coat - you will want at least 3 to 4 coats and you should add another coat every year or so.
