The vinegar and steel wool method is great. You should be able to Google and find a website that gives recipes for different colors. Different vinegars react differently (distilled, apple cider, balasamic)...different metals also have different chemical reactions (copper pennies, steel wool, iron, zinc). You can even achieve different colors by adding tannins from coffee or teas.
