All I can think to do is hang a section of drapes from the ceiling to floor.

you could surround it with storage cubbies it make the protusion of the box from the wall less noticable.

You need to put a dry wall patch on the upper hole. For the panel box, I would get used upper kitchen cabinets and place over it. Do a floor to ceiling cabinet (by stacking) or a pantry style. The cabinet doors will give you access to the box, and you will gain some storage. Hope this helps.
