Cement that is done properly will hold up much longer. Even if patio blocks or bricks are cheaper, in the long run, cement is the better option.
Dennis. I agree with grandmom and the word properly is very important. Many people will say they know how to work with concrete but make sure you see their work and talk with people they have worked for.

Might want to check and see if your taxes will go up if you pour a concrete driveway - concrete is a permanent addition, whereas bricks/blocks can be removed and shouldn't be taxed.
