How do you think vinegar would work to replace jet dry?
Jet Dry is not expensive and I definitely need it for our hard water, but I am always adding a vinegar to every load for its disinfection properties and ability to clean glass to a sparkle. Anyone tried this? If not as soon as I run my JET DRY dispenser out I will try this and report back.

Hi Audrey, I have very hard water (and no water softener) and half a cup of vinegar per load works great for me. You can't put vinegar in the rinse agent compartment though. I put mine in a little mason jar in the top rack.
It is supposed to soften water so worth a try.
Lots of people substitute vinegar for Jet Dry. I alternate. Use vinegar for a while, then use Jet Dry for a while, then nothing for a while!
A word of caution....I substituted vinegar for Jet Dry. After about a year, my dishwasher started leaking.....reason...vinegar eroded the seals and hoses. My new dishwasher booklet says do not use vinegar in every load. It says to use it as a dishwasher cleaner about once every three months.
My water sucks. No surprise there, I won't even let the pets drink it. Where I live I tried subbing vinegar for jet dry, but for me, it didn't work. I either had to hand wash and dry the glasses or use jet dry, just vinegar alone did not work for me. If it does for you, fantastic, you can save a few more dollars. 🌞
THANK YOU GUYS! These are fantastic responses.
