It's more of problem if sink is one with countertop. There are kits for that sold at Home Depot for that. It's a temporary fix and a bit delicate. Once it gets scratched it will peel, especially the sink.
Can you just scrap it? And DIY it? Maybe keep the sink if it’s ok, just get newer fixtures, they don’t have to be fancy, just new will look MUCH better. You can get prefab pretty inexpensively on sale at home improvement stores. Or DIY.
