How can I update this cabinet?
The best way to repaint a dated 40 yr old Mediterranean style bathroom white and black vanity, so it’s all one color. Brush, roller or spray paint out the areas that are painted black, or repaint the whole thing.?Great condition, just needs new hardware, a new top and an intro to the 21st century via paint. Thanks!

I'd repaint the whole thing unless you want the black areas to be a different white. Spray painting gives you a smooth finish but you have to do a lot of tapering off and covering up. I would just brush it since it has moldings.
Remove the hardware, doors and drawers , marking on back where they go back. Clean with TSP Sand off sheen, then prime with oil based primer, lightly sand smooth, then paint with oil based paint.
Jill: Take off hardware handles. Carefully fill holes with wood putty and sand when dry. (Take off hinges too... do NOT paint over them... no need to fill with putty, of course.)
Paint with primer. Then put on two coats of good latex paint.
Shopping for hardware is so much fun! (Of course it's available at Home Depot and Lowes... but I found my last hardware at Hobby Lobby!)
Color: go neutral. ...maybe even one of the lighter colors of the top... and you may extend the "life" of the top --- and bring it into the 21st century --- without having to replace.
