Hi Jan. I'm Cindy. I recommend a product called Woolite Rug and Upholstery Cleaner. I have used this product and it's one that I would recommend. Put a drop cloth under the fringe first. Then spray the cleaner on. (It's a foam cleaner.) Scrub the foam in using the brush that is built in the cap. It will leave the fringe fresh and clean. Wishing you all the best Jan.
If you have a lot of patience, I have cut them off with very tiny craft scissors. You could also try a seam ripper.
Thank you. I will try the Woolite Rug Cleaner. If that doesn't work, I may try to cut them off.
