What kind of plant is this?
A local business in town closed down recently. My grandmother worked at that business for many, many years. So when she passed away 15 years ago, we had gave one of the many plants we had received in condolences to where she worked. So as you can probably guess, we have received the plant back. I’m not sure what it is or how to take care of it. Any help would be great because I don’t want to be the one that kills it.

Crotan
Croton
Anne is correct. It is a CROTON. Grows almost wild, and as an outdoor plant, in the Caribbean, where it requires very little care.
It does need watered alot . And will burn the leaves in outside direct sunlight. Water once a week . The leaves will start falling off if it gets to dry . Keep in bright area inside. Shade outside but, only in warm weather or just leave it in one spot in your home .
