It's never worked for me. I use Kleen Strip, works great but strong,
Warning: ALWAYS use the protective clothing and other things to do the job safely. My husband fell in a stripping liquid (creamy liquid orange color don't remember the name) and caused 3rd degree burns everywhere it touched. It was close to his eyes which were not protected by goggles (use goggles not just safety glasses) and if it had made contact with them he might be blind today. He was home alone and I was there in about 10 minutes and it had already started to blister and continued to get worse every day. That was 3 years ago and he has burn marking which will never go away.
My favorite furniture stripper is Citristrip it doesn't have a harmful smell and works really well.
