How do I de-ice my front steps without eating away our bluestone?
What can I use to keep ice and snow off of my front steps that won’t harm the bluestone? The product I used last year ate away at the steps. If you could recommend something that would be OK on the stone AND pet paw friendly as well, that would be great! Thank you.

I am not familiar with Bluestone, but on my cement walkway I use a mixture of.......
1 teaspoon of DAWN dish-washing liquid
1 tablespoon rubbing alcohol
1/2 gallon water
This mixture will melt the ice and won't re-freeze. I usually use about 3-4 gallons of water in a 5 gallon bucket, increasing the mixture contents as needed. Hope this helps you. Good luck.
Try as a ice & snow melter 1/2 gal. of water/ six drops of dish soap/ 1/4 cup of rubbing alcohol put in sprayer and spray it on and see what happens in a corner or a side of the step. Hope it works Just something to try i heard it works, I will try it.
