I can only offer you a couple general comments. I don't know much about it, but:
I have spent much time in New Mexico...and some of the homes do have concrete benches either inside or outside of their homes. They are made of a concrete mix. Those are just set right against the wall, as if it was part of the wall itself. They are just platforms, and have a rounded, continuous edge that ends at the floor. One thing that my husband & I did was use stain made for concrete, now common in home improvement stores. Turned out great...was easy. I totally recommend using that. We had the prettiest sidewalk and front porch around in very light blue, which complimented our house. I would say that for furniture, you could get a real piece and just cover it over with colored concrete. You might even be able to draw or stencil a design on it. Try getting a cheap piece of furniture at a flea market or resale store and experiment with it.
