How to redo the walls of a double wide trailer?
My daughter purchased a double wide as her first home. She hates those “strips” that are all over the walls. She’s asking how to remove them and fill in the gaps. Would this be a hard job for a very inexperienced young lady? Any suggestions for her would be appreciated.

I think they are necessary for expansion and contraction of those types of walls. Some things you just have to live with.
Those strips cover the panel seams. Some are plastic, some are wood. Usually covered with the same wall covering the panels are covered with. I have removed them by prying them out with a putty knife or cutting them out with a razor scraper. Fill the gaps with no shrink drywall patching compound. The walls can be washed, primed with Kilz primer then painted like regular walls. Did this in my daughters modular home.

I also have removed the strips from the walls of my mobile home. I love the way it turned out. After removing the strips, you can tape and mud the seams. Once they are dry, sand them smooth, clean thoroughly, then prime and paint.
