Do you have a pic?
What type of metal and finish? To remove discoloration from metal you typically wash with a steel wool soap pad, rinse thoroughly, and dry.
It would be helpful to rephrase the question. Not sure what you are asking with the "nail polish" part of it. What is the table inlaid with? Is it paint, is it tile? is it painted wood. If color is missing you can touch up with acrylic paint and a fine brush and cover with spray polyurethane to protect it in clear. It comes in glossy, satin or matte finish.
It sounds like applied pattern is delicate. All you can do at this point is remove the polish with remover and try to repaint to match the other metal pieces or remove the pattern from all of them completely. Best of luck, with out a pic I don't know how to further help.
