Mop with one of these mixtures to remove residue & build up as well as restore shine.
1 cup hydrogen peroxide
2 gallons warm water
OR
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1 tsp blue Dawn
2 gallons warm water
Wring the mop well and clean. Change water as soon as it isn't completely clear any longer.

If you're using a product like Murphy's Oil Soap to clean your floors, stop as it's responsible for the dullness.

Hi ! I use a mixture of water and vinegar to clean my wood floors , if I want to add a scent , I will add a couple of tablespoons of fabulosa floor cleaner , but I don't usually add it .
To make your colors shine again get a product called quick shine made by
Halloway House . You apply this to an already clean floor , you squirt it on and spread it with a sponge mop . You can put down up to 7 coats , that would be like a bowling alley type finish . I do this once or twice a year using 2 coats .
My 60+ year old floors look great !!!

I used Quick Shine (2 coats) on my tile kitchen floor and loved the look. However, when I mopped again...oh my, I cannot describe the sorrow I felt as it was pealing off and looked like gobs of dust. I used plain water with very, very little vinegar. I had to go ahead and remove all the coating by using warm water with much more vinegar and hard mop to get back the original floor. Please advise on where I went wrong in the cleaning. Thanks!

NEVER USE ANY QUICK SHINE TYPE OF PRODUCTS! THEY ARE NOTHING BUT AN EXPENSIVE BOTTLE OF WAX. VERY DIFFICULT TO GET OFF AND THE REMOVAL CAN DAMAGE THE FLOORS. I am a professional flooring maintainer and hardwood flooring refinisher. If the floor has lost its shine it's time to call a pro and have them do what's called a screen and recoat. Runs from $1-2.5 a sqft foot.

This looks like a older place and finish hardwood floor. this may take some time but it worked well in our old house growing up. old fashion paste wax and a buffer. https://www.bing.com/shop?q=johnson%27s+bowling+alley+wax&FORM=SHOPPA&originIGUID=B9B5EC7F8EE14A90A3DE0B4D4B0D5E5C

My wood flooring looked almost the same as your and I was told to use Armstrong's Shinekeeper on it. I love the way it looks now. I mopped it to make sure there was no dust or anything on it. Then I put two coats of the Shinekeeper on the floor, use it sparing, a little goes a long way. The thing I liked best is that you only have to use it about every 6 months or so. I mop it at least twice a week and it is in my master bath. So, it is a really great product
