How do I build support for two deck boards without joists?
How can I replace two deck boards when there are no joists to support them? I downsized to smaller hot tub, and need to add support under the boards.

You could take a 2X4 or 2X6 and screw pieces just underneath, at least 2 feet apart, where the two new boards will be located. Screw the small boards across the space and you should be able to use a good electric or battery operated drill with screw attachment to screw the small boards into place. Then you will have something to nail to when you place your long boards.
