How to locate an electrical outlet?
An electrical outlet was hidden when a wall of cabinets was built in and I would like to cut an opening in the cabinet to expose the outlet. But I have no idea where the outlet is located.

See how far apart other outlets are in kitchen usually 2-4 feet depends on builder and they usually line up with others
18 to 22 inches from flore and 12 inches fro corners or door frame. You will need a stud finder, drill 40 inch long drill bit and know how to do sheet rock and spackle work. Then there is the wire strippers the wire the snake the outlet box outlet and plate cover. Oh and did i mention the other person to help. Now there is a little problem with the license well a lot of people skip this part but if you do something wrong and the house burns to the ground and thy find out you did it yourself then the insurance wont cover the damage. Well get a good book learn the safty , rules, and codes in your towne and go at it if you realy think you can. Or call an electrician and sleep without worry that its done right.
See if these help.

They are usually installed on studs."Do you have a stud finder that can detect AC?
My Zircon does, and quite well if it's NM rather than MC. I just tested and it will find a receptacle from about 3" through air. That distance would be shorter through drywall, but I would think it would work"."A "buried" outlet (or junction box) would be out of code (of course, that's not to say someone didn't do it anyway). multimeter has a built in non-contact voltage detector which is great for checking if a circuit is live; but, it isn't as useful for running down outlets.Electrical code specifies where your outlets should go and what types to use. Code, fortunately, appeals to logic. For example, one requirement--that kitchen countertop outlets should be no farther than 48 inches from each other is hardly draconian or arbitrary. It's based on the average length of cord for most small kitchen appliances. The intent is to prevent homeowners from stretching cords too far and creating hazards. These are the most up to date electrical code requirements for residential wall outlets. Your community may differ. Who ever installed cabinets did not want to fix the outlet to code they would have had to move it forward out of wall to be level with cabinets,so they buried it which wasn't code either. you can use it like it is in wall unless they disconnected it but there will be gap between wall/outlet and cabinet about 1/4" you could put some trim molding around it to fill it. Be sure to check with your permitting department for particulars if you want to move it. Only other way is to drill small holes & look???? then patch them. Just make sure no matter what you do turn off electric at main box unless of course you are checking to see if the outlet has power running to it thru it to another outlet. here's Zircon stud finder link https://www.amazon.com/Zircon-MultiScanner-Electronic-Detector-Detection/dp/B079PVL9P8/ref=asc_df_B079PVL9P8/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309789102684&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10386224481812070401&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9030040&hvtargid=pla-568096253256&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=60439547983&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=309789102684&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10386224481812070401&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9030040&hvtargid=pla-568096253256
