Is there an easy way to remove or cover popcorn ceilings?
We have popcorn ceilings in every room. I'd like to remove it or cover it up, but not sure how to go about it. Can you recommend a couple of ways to take care of this problem?

Want to hide fan wire in concrete ceiling and attach it behind shitrock to electric outlet. Any tips on how to remove a popcorn ceiling?
Hi Carol, removing the popcorn is possible though a very nasty job honestly lol. You spritz the ceiling with water and then just scrape it off. Here's a tutorial on how to do that: https://www.diynetwork.com/how-to/rooms-and-spaces/walls-and-ceilings/how-to-remove-a-popcorn-ceiling
There are lots of options to cover it up, you could consider wood or bead board. I've used the new styrofoam ceiling panels to cover ceilings before and that's super easy. You can see how I did that here:

Covering up a Very Ugly Ceiling With Styrofoam Ceiling Tiles
It’s not that hard to remove the popcorn ceiling, but very hard on your back, neck, and arms. Hope you have help! It’s also really messy! Just spray well with warm water, leave a couple of minutes to soak in, then scrape, scrape, scrape. Don’t let it dry out, keep it damp. Have fun!

My husband and I removed popcorn ceiling texture from our kitchen when we moved in a few years ago. We filled a spray mop (one that had a soft, washable pad) with a mixture of warm water and dish soap and sprayed the ceiling enough to loosen the popcorn texture. We then "mopped" away the texture and dried the ceiling underneath with microfibre cloths. We worked in small sections, and once all of the texture was gone and everything had dried out, we added a couple coats of fresh, white ceiling paint.
