How do I fix or cover the spots on a flaking mirror?
Looking for ideas to cover or fix small flaking spots on a large mirror. Spots are in the middle, so framing the edges won't work.
There is a mirror glue. A few blobs are placed on the surface and then the mirror is pressed onto the glue. The mirror glue won't react with the mirror and show.
E6000 glue.
Depending on the size of the mirror, you can use hot glue for smaller mirrors or an E6000 type glue for larger mirrors since you don't want the glue to dry before you can attached the board.
Are you asking about a project post that you saw? If so, go to that project post, scroll to the bottom and ask your question.
I would try E6000 or lock right super glue . Good luck !
Depending on the project, there are also little metal mirror clips that screw into the back of the wood and then brace your mirror to the wood.
Depending on the size of the mirror, the best options to attach mirror to wood are either double sided foam tape (for every small projects like the inside of a jewelry box) or mirror mastic (available at just about any hardware store). Mirror mastic won't harm the coating on the back of glass that makes it reflective and is thick, so if fills any gaps to level the mirror.
