How to restore steam and water damage on kitchen cabinets
wash them down down with Murphy's Oil Soap. A few coats of a water based polyurethane should do the trick.
You also may need to restain them with a matching stain after scrubbing them down well. Use a foam brush and wipe off the excess. Then the polyurethane. Works great and lasts for years.
Thanks for all information. Before I posted this question I have applied gel stain and polyurethane and got some dark area. Do I need to sand well before apply any coating?
