Although some folks have done this, laying tiles overtop of existing floor tiles is Not Recommended. With the additional layer of new tiles, the overall height of the floor will be raised up. This will cause a dilemma at each transition point (where the floor joins to another room) due to the surfaces no longer being level. It might also cause problems with any doors that need to swing over the floor to open or close.
