How do I get rid of these tiny flying looking "ants"?
I have these flying little-bugs/ants by my computer and in random places in my house - like the bathroom and maybe my kitchen -not around fruits or food. I tried apple cider vinegar and vodka-some fell in there. Now that I don;t want to waste "vodka" on these little bugs- I would like to know what kind of flying bug/ant or whatever it may be called and how do I get rid of them. I am puzzled why they would be around my PC.I caught one once- looking at it-it seemed like a little black ant with wings??Please help!!

Hi Joanna, The only thing I have found that works is Hot Shot No Pest Strips. You can get them at Walmart or Lowes. Here is a link to check them out.

If you mean gnats..it is simple. They thrive on water...mostly damp soil. Let your house plants dry out before watering...dry out sinks and tubs. Don't leave damp towels or wet clothes laying around.
This is what I used for similar bugs around my plants -- a white plate with some water in it, put a little lemon Joy on top of the water and set where you have seen them. When the plate had quite a few dead bugs, I emptied it and repeated the process until they were gone. Does the plate have to be white? Does only lemon Joy work? I don't know; that's what the instructions called for and I had both so that's what I used. You could always try another color or another dish detergent.
fungus gnats drawn to computer light maybe even warmth they live in the soil caused by too wet of soil organic matter. Mix one part 3% hydrogen peroxide with four parts water. Allow the top layer of your soil to dry, and then water your plants with this solution as you normally would. The soilwill fizz for a few minutes after application; this is normal. The fungus gnat larvae will die on contact with the hydrogen peroxide. Organical solution you could get some Nematodes they will kill the fungus gnats. Aother way change out and replace all the soil throw old soil in garbage here's link https://www.arbico-organics.com/product/2406/nematodos-beneficiosos?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIoJTp3KjE4AIVNx-tBh05-wYYEAQYASABEgKNRfD_BwE you can get cheaper elsewhere but this company guarantees they are alive best thing you can do if you have house plants these are only 3 solutions. fungus gnats feed on roots and will eventually kill houseplants & will spread amoungst them. the plate of solution doesn't work because you aren't killing the larve in the soil only few flying around. they only seem to be gone because the adult stage(flying) is very short lived so they are gone soon back into soil growing stages; eggs hatching larve dier soil is better #1 killer of house plants is overwatering but once you have fungus gnats they are living in soil and you need to actually kill them. If they are mostly in kitchen around sink, fruit, sugar, alcohol they are fruit flies 2 different pests. fruit flies put mug of sweet alcohol/red wine on counter they'll be drawn to it and drown
