How do I choose a tree for a small backyard?
What type of tree is good for a small backyard? It must have non-invasive roots, and be able to endure full sun. Preferably, something that blooms. I live in zone 9. Thank you!

Lavender, Wild Peach, False Olive, Pomon or a Wild Pear might work.
Hi Mel,
You local Garden /Plant Centre should be able o help you there. They know what grows best in your area.......
Hi Mel. A Crepe Myrtle would work well. They come in many colors, are easy to keep, and bloom Spring thru Fall with almost no care once established.😊
A dwarf fruit tree, we had avocado, lemon & orange, it's wonderful to step out into your yard and pick the fruit off your own tree when you would like a piece. I see your in San Diego, we are too ! Good luck.
Dogwood if you can find it . Grows small, blooms with either white or pink five petal blooms doesn't need much in the way of care except watering.
what state city are you in; zone 9 is in 13 different states I live in zone 9 AZ and many of the suggested trees won't grow here in this blazing sun they get scorched Citrus do well
