How do I get rid of spider mites?
Does anyone know a good safe way to get rid of spider mites for good? Also prevention? I have a collection of young citrus tree plants and two of them only seem to attract the mites, they have had the problem twice. The mites had not spread to the other plants and I am so glad of that. I cut the two infected plants back the first time and used insecticidal soap and they came back very nicely. Yesterday the were fine and this afternoon they were full of the mites and webs! I had a garden bug killer and used that but I would like to prevent it from happening again. Odd it seems to only affect those two plants. Thanks

I've heard that ladybugs are great for this. I'm assuming your plants are outside. If they're inside, this solution may not work. You can buy ladybugs at some garden supply stores and even on Amazon. Hope this helps!

Hi Sylvia,
My Mother used to use Detergent and water ( tide I think) the powder kind , and/or Dawn dish soap and water.
She would put it in a spray bottle like you were making a stain solution not too much soap but not too weak, then spray her flowers .
She mainly used it on her Roses .I’m not
sure how long it lasts , she and my grandmother have since passed so we
just guess “ the potion” lol.
( we do approx 3 -1 water then soap )
Good Luck ☘️
Hi Sylvia, if you want to try non-chemical control, you might try spraying with soapy water, some people swear by Dawn dish detergent. Something has to be making the webs, and this would smother mites.
