I use 2 cups of vinegar to soak in the bowl over night or all day if we will be gone. Then scrub it with a regular toilet bowl brush. If there are stubborn stains still, I use Mr. Clean magic toilet bowl scrub. It removes what is left. It is expensive and cannot do all the stubborn minerals, so I use the vinegar first.
I use Clorox wand for the convenience, combined with a pumi stick for and stubborn stains or rings.
