How do I create a plant stand using old books?
I've seen a few plant stands in mail order made of resin and designed to look like stacks of old books. I'd like to recreat this look using real books. But, I'm unsure where to start, how to make the stack sturdy, etc. Tips and pointers are greatly appreciated.

I saw one several years ago. They drilled a hole thru the books. Then set and stacked the books on a wood base. They counter sunk a hole in the under side of the base to attach a washer and nut. Then ran a rod thru the base and up thru the books. And fastened with nuts on each ends of the rod. I think you would have to cut a center hole thru the top 1\4 inch of pages of the top book ( leaving the edge of pages alone) to attached the nut and a washer and to hide the nut. TaDa! Close the cover and you are done!
Awesome! You immediately made me think of the long threaded rods used to make lamps. They rode come in different lengths or can be cut to length which would allow for a set of plant stands of varying heights.
