Best to call who put the sod in. They would know and should fix it. I doubt seed would take where sod is. Kind of like a carpet. You could get a roll of sod from the homecenter and use that to patch.
I agree with William. Plus you will want matching grass. Did they guarantee their work?

I agree with William. First you have to know what kind of grass was put in as sod. Then you can purchase a roll of sod to patch the places that are bare. Cut out the old spot and put in a new piece of sod. Tamp it down well then water. I hope this helps. Wishing you the best.
