Hello Darlene! Your should get an estimate from a few local contractors in your area. The cost will depend on how you plan on adding the sun porch to your house, any foundation it might need, whether or not it will change your roof line, windows, screens, doors, stairs, etc. I did get an estimate for adding a screen porch to my existing deck about 5 years ago and extending my roof line--20,000 to 25,000. It was very specific to what I wanted to do and how that could be accomplished.
You can try to determine your list of materials and get prices of each. Then do the math. You probably need to get quotes as Gk said.
Where do you live Darlene? Costs vary greatly across the country. It also depends on what you have to work with and how much prep is involved and any amenities you may want. Here is how to hire a contractor.

I would get written bids from at least 3 if not more, contractors.
Yes, you need to develop a Finite Scope of Work, as the others have essentially said.
You also need to determine if a Building Permit will need to be pulled! If so, there has to be formal architectural plans for pulling that permit.
Thats actually a good thing, because it’s a 3-Way Binding Contract between you, your contractor and the city.
As mentioned above, the foundation, framing members, materials and construction methodology must all be specified and drawn, otherwise you’re not going to get apples to apples bids and it may not be safely and legally built.
Hi Darlene, hope this helps you out. Cost is different depending where you live, and on the price of lumber.
