I would re-pot them and clean the heck out of the pots or replace them. They know what the smell is they’re seeking. Change it.
You can put marbles, shells. stones, or ceramics. Anything to cover the soil.
Sprinkle pepper on the compost/ earth in the pots. Or grow cacti 😼
Place rocks on top of the soil.
