How to Make Your Own Foot Stool
Hi Dawn,
If you want a foot stool that's light weight and compact, just buy a plastic one that folds. I have a folding step stool that would also make a super foot stool! I it bought at Walmart a couple of years ago. I don't remember the price but I probably paid $10 or less. I'm short so I keep mine folded in the laundry room until needed to reach the upper shelves in there or anywhere in the house.
If you specifically want to make one, you'll have to wait for answers from those who are much more crafty than I but I think some short furniture legs and a bit of wood or plywood is all you need to to construct a simple foot stool. My Dad made some this way years ago. He then added a piece of thick foam to the top and covered it with heavy vinyl or upholstery fabric.
Good luck with your project!
There are folding, easily washable, foot stools that can be purchased at reasonable prices. It may be more cost effective than building your own.
Oh this brings back memories. I was also looking for the solution years back but we were tight on space and weight.
I found a heavy duty milk crate that was filled with items for our camping trip. When we got to our destination I took a zip tie two or three of them put the two milk crates together, place them upside down and that’s what are used to get in and out of our trailer. When we were done would wash them off and fill them back up with the items we are back up.
