If you can identify where the mound is, take a large stick and poke a hole deep in the middle then pour a pot of boiling water in it.
I had saved the remedy that DesertRose posted before. My daughter had a problem with ants and with little children and dogs, I told her about the muffin mix and it worked like a charm.
