Maybe you can put up some bird feeders for them - so they won’t dig up your grass looking for food.
Birds dig for bugs (grubs and such) so I would think you will have to get rid of the bugs to get rid of the birds.
Sounds like you may have grubs which the birds are feeding on. You can purchase special products to get rid of them but a healthy lawn usually works best. If they are not making mounds in your lawn then the digging cannot be harmful as the holes they make will help to aerate your lawn.
Hi Emiliga,
The birds are looking for food. That means the bugs in your lawn. Putting up bird feeders can help but the bugs are a more tasty and natural treat for the birds. The way to eliminate their action is to get rid of the bugs in your lawn. That means the use of a pesticide. Hopefully, a natural one. Here's an article that might help you figure out a plan. Wishing you the best.
