The stain glass is for lite use, can wash off if in a place that needs a lot of cleaning. Chalk paint is more designed for lite usage accent tables. Not really good for kitchen or bath cabinets or table tops, like kitchen tables that get washed off a lot. Also chalk paint needs a sealer coat to have any durability at all. It's still fun though. I like Rustoleum chalk paint and their top coat. Not exspensive and can be made in any color you want. I always worry about home made because consistency of paint differs so much.,
Chalk paint: mix 1/3 cup plaster of Paris and 1/3 cup cool water. Then add 1 cup latex paint and stir well. This will cover a 6 drawer dresser once. Do not save left over chalk paint, it does not keep. Finish with a urethane to protect. Stained glass can be done with acrylic paint in school glue (black in one bottle for the stain divider, each color added to new bottle for each color used) Lay glass horizontal and do all the stain glass black dividers first (it will be more gray looking). Just squirt it on like lines for picture or stain glass look. Let dry several hours or over night. Then squirt other glue colors on and spread with clean brush to fill each section. You can BUY colored glitter glue also(and not have to add any acrylic paint at all), but some dries to clear, so be sure the kind you get is not the clear drying kind. Let dry thoroughly before standing glass up vertically.
For a very durable chalk paint. Also you do not need to use wax as a sealer..I use polycrylic a water based sealer..at least three coats. Urethane will yellow in time, the polycrylic drys and stays clear.
