How to make a throw rug slip proof on laminate flooring?

I have a throw rug that has a rubber backing but it still slides on the laminate floor. So I bought a rubberized mesh netting from the dollar store to prevent slipping but it’s not working. Is there a better backing to buy without placing tape on the new floor? Maybe the dollar store purchase was just junk? Thank you for your suggestions!

I’m not sure what a”rubberized” net is, ibut any place that sells rugs. Will sell actual rubber net underlays. I cut them up and use them for everything I don’t want to slip or move around....groceries or food dishes in the car, dishes in a china cabinet, under throw rugs on top of carpets or any floor, outside door mats. You can think up more, I’m sure.
Lynn’s idea is great! Make sure your rugs are as safe as possible. Tripping over the edges may be more dangerous than slipping across the floor. DO NOT EXPERIMENT!! Add extra silicone beading in X-es to help in different directions. We have heavy silicone-backed rugs all around the kitchen for comfort on my legs. The thick rugs sometimes stop my wheelchair, but I just back up and approach again—with no slips or trips. Best wishes to you and safety first, not just looks. Happy Spring!
Yes, if the beads come off or disintegrate during the washing or drying, you will need to re-apply them.
