Its a very nice base already with the gravel. The water feature isn’t quite in keeping - simplify it by keeping the round base. Add a few beautiful big rocks that look like they are emerging from the gravel, Japanese maples and azaleas and a simple bench of rough hewn log resting on flat stones. And flat naturally shaped stepping stones set in the gravel. Keep the design asymmetrical, not symmetrical as it is now. Have fun!
Love the idea of a water feature but not this one. It needs to be simple. Perhaps cascading rocks. Add some greenery. This site might give you a few ideas.

They also rake the gravel to simulate water currents around the rocks.
good idea!
What a great starting point there are so many things you could do here I was curious if you had planned on using this space at all in a way that would require seating? I do love the water feature but maybe not in the middle maybe placing it at one of the corners or off to the side and adding different plants/ trees (potted bamboo) of different hights kind of clustered around it so that it's a focal point but not the only thing see you could have a trellis on one of the sides and have some beautiful climbing flowing plants, pots filled with different kinds (and colors) of ornamental grasses you could add crystals to different areas to raise the vibration of the space and to enhance the health of the plants
What ever you choose to do I'm sure it will come out beautiful and post pictures we all would love to see it
You could put some large stones to represent mountains. Potted plants to keep the lines clean and in pots that have deep harmonious colors to complement your design.
