Hi Norma, I spray vinegar right on them, but I'm careful to only spray it where it needs to go, because it will kill everything it touches.
Use a spray of white vinegar, it kills down to the root and is non-toxic to the environment. Be careful because it cannot tell the difference between what you want to grow and a weed.
I started using this last year and it works well. Be careful because it will kill the "good stuff" too.

Hi Norma, , hope this helps you, mix 1 cup of salt. 1 tablespoon of dish soap. 1 gallon of vinegar, pour into a spray bottle and spray weeds. Be careful not to spray plants that you love.
