i have silver plated pieces for many years and they are very tarnished.
'Wrights' silver cream is my favorite to use. The silver polish is probably the best for your silver. There are easier ways to dip the silver in a solution but I always heard that way could do damage to any of the carved patina'd areas so I never used that method.
You can use toothpaste for cleaning silver
regular white toothpaste and soft clean damp wash cloth(no fabric softener on it)buffing in circular motions, rinse with warm water, microfiber cloth to dry and polish after cleaning.if pieces are very intricate use small soft bottle brushes/soft tooth brushes to get in tight areas

Good luck on your cleaning! I am sure it will look great.
am a great fan of the Wright Company-they make great silver polish
I use Wright’s silver polish. It comes with a little sponge that makes cleaning super easy.
These are many ways to clean your silver, try one of these:
No more tarnishing with aluminum
Boil 4 cups of water, a tablespoon of baking soda, and some aluminum foil. Place silverware in for 10 seconds then remove with kitchen tongs.
Ketchup isn’t just for eating
Tarnished silver can be polished with ketchup using a paper towel – for silver that has crevices, use a toothbrush.
Kill two birds with one stone
When using Windex to clean your windows, spray some on a rag and use it to scrub your silver.
Brush your silver with toothpaste
Use circular motions to brush non-gel and non-abrasive toothpaste onto silver. Leave on for five minutes before washing off with water.
Use soda for tarnished silver
Fill a plastic bowl with lemon-lime soda and place slightly tarnished silver in it for one hour. Rinse and dry with a paper towel.
