How to keep bear away from bird feeder?
I know there isn't anything other than making something really ugly and high to prevent bear from my bird feeder. And doing that would make it impossible to reload food. I thought of a clothes line, but not allowed and bears climb! I looked on utube and my birds are so mad at us for the bear destroying our beautiful very expensive glass gazebo bird feeder but it is still 20 degrees in the NE and I would like to take care of them. Any suggestion. We do have one under our lattice deck but most are yelling at me on my deck. TY!!!

There are bird feeds that fit in a window with one way mirror plastic to enjoy the birds with out them seeing you. Place these feeders in second floor windows.
That means your bear is hungry ! Maybe you can hiss your bird feeder halfway up to the roof, on the gutter for example, with a cord so the birds can reach (they fly and bears don't if I am right hihi). But far enough out of the wall if you can. You can then lower the bird feeder to refill.
Hi Elise!
I have sent you some videos to take a look at. Hopefully you can find something that is helpful on them. Good luck and be careful!

Can you scatter birdseed in one area of your yard—on the ground? I can’t imagine living that closely with bears. I appreciate your helping the birds. Best wishes!
